Where Discipline Meets Destiny

A Love Forged in Faith and Fire

Jose Mari Jr. and Lorelei Rose D. Jereza

On an otherwise ordinary August afternoon in 2017, inside the endorphin-filled interior of Kinetix Lab Gym in Technohub, two lives shifted course. Jose Mari “Ming” B. Jereza, Jr. and Lorelei Rose “Lorie Rose” D. Jereza did not meet in the soft glow of candlelight or across a crowded ballroom, but in a space defined by discipline, repetition, and the relentless pursuit of self-improvement. It was August 13, 2017, during a group workout among bodybuilding athletes, when Lorie Rose noticed Ming’s glances that appear frequent, deliberate, and impossible to ignore. True to her nature, she broke the silence first, complimenting his tattoo. He smiled, thanked her, and said little else.

It was a beginning so subtle it could easily have been forgotten. And yet, it continued. After the session, Ming asked to have a photo taken with her. Later that evening, he sent her a message on Facebook, expressing his hope that she, too, would become a Kinetix Lab ambassador.

What began as a casual exchange gradually unfolded into something neither of them had anticipated. Lorie Rose eventually became a Kinetix Lab ambassador herself, drawing her even deeper into the world where their paths had first crossed.

At the time, Lorie Rose’s heart was elsewhere, tethered to a long-distance relationship she believed would define her future. But in the power of prayer, she asked for clarity; a sign within seven days. What came instead was heartbreak: betrayal revealed, trust undone. In that fragile space, Ming appeared not as a savior, but as a steady presence. When she confided in him, he simply said, “Hindi mo deserve ’yan.” It was enough. He did not rush her. He stayed.

For Ming, the attraction was instinctive: a woman “smart and talented,” whose beauty extended far beyond the physical. For Lorie Rose, it was slower, almost reluctant and a guarded heart learning, again, to open. Over time, admiration deepened into love, shaped not by grand gestures but by constancy. Their story did not begin with certainty. It began with faith.

Their relationship, when it came, was forged in something more enduring than ease. Ming faced a season of clinically diagnosed depression with resilience. Lorie Rose endured profound loss, losing her mother to COVID, then her sister less than two years later.

What carried them through was not perfection, but honesty — the kind built through open communication, transparency, and deep conversations that allowed them to truly see, understand, and hold space for one another.

What they built together was not rooted in perfection, but in presence of each other, in showing up, again and again, even when life felt unbearably heavy.

Through it all, they grew not only as partners but as athletes, embodying the same discipline in love that they brought to their craft. She would become a 4x Bikini Bodybuilding Champion; he, a 9x Men's Physique Champion and 2x Bodybuilding Champion. Side by side, they trained, competed, and prepared even for the Southeast Asian Games, their relationship mirroring the very ethos of their sport: endurance, strength, and the refusal to quit.

For Ming, clarity came the day she finally said yes to him after nearly a year of courtship. For Lorie Rose, it arrived through something more divine. After praying for a sign, a Philippine flag, she encountered it twice in a single day: first, an unassuming flag taped to an electric post; then, at the International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta, a paraglider descending from the sky carrying a massive one. It was February 10, 2018. It was enough.

The proposal, years later, carried the same intentionality. On December 4, 2021, during what she believed was a simple family getaway in Nasugbu, Batangas to celebrate her sister-in-law’s birthday, Ming orchestrated a surprise with the help of her family. When the door opened, it was not a birthday celebration she walked into, but a room filled with flowers, candles, and the man who had chosen her from the very beginning. Down on one knee, he asked, “Will you marry me?” She said yes.

If their love story was shaped by discipline, their wedding was an extension of it—meticulous, symbolic, and deeply personal. They began with a vision: Celestial Grecian Elegance, inspired by their shared reverence for the human form as both science and art. Flowing fabrics, gold and beige tones, and an atmosphere that felt “ethereal, magical, classic, and timeless” became their guiding aesthetic.

They found their venue almost serendipitously: Fernwood Gardens Tagaytay, a place already woven into Lorie Rose’s childhood memories. The moment they stepped inside, something aligned. Bird songs echoes throughout: a detail small yet deeply meaningful, reminding her of her late mother’s love for them. It did not feel like a coincidence. It felt like confirmation.

Planning, however, was not without its challenges. Their careers were expanding, their schedules relentless. It wasn’t until two months before the wedding that everything intensified. Lorie Rose took creative control, crafting not just an event, but a narrative—editing music, directing performances, writing and narrating their story. She paused her work as a DJ to fully commit. Ming remained steady and focused, providing, supporting, and ensuring that everything they needed for the wedding and beyond was in place.

On August 8, 2025, the vision came to life.

The day unfolded with an almost surreal precision. As Lorie Rose walked down the aisle to “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” time seemed to suspend itself. Ming, already in tears, whispered a prayer: “Lord, this is it. Thank You for everything. Thank You for Your provision. Because of You, we were able to achieve our dream wedding.” It was not just a ceremony. It was a culmination.

Every moment was curated with emotional intention from the live string performances to the fire dance that served as the evening’s crescendo, set to “Turning Page.” At one point, the room fell into silence as Lorie Rose’s voice narrated their story, drawing every guest into the intimacy of their journey. It was not simply watched. It was felt. And then, celebration. Music, performances, a shared exhale of joy.

In the quiet after, their words to each other carried the weight of everything they had built. “I will love you for the rest of my life,” Lorie Rose said. Ming echoed with equal certainty: “I love you every day. I love every part of you.”

For couples standing at the edge of their own beginnings, their advice is both practical and profound: do not rush. Build with intention. Hold tightly not just to the vision, but to each other. And above all, surrender.

Because in the end, as they discovered, a wedding is not merely a day. It is a testament—to patience, to resilience, to faith. A reflection of everything it took to arrive there.

And that is what makes it unforgettable.
