Gloval and Kate’s relationship is the epitome of a love that stood the test of time. From being childhood friends to lovers, theirs is a love story that shouts that there is hope in forever.
The bride shared, “we were childhood friends, as our families were friends. We also went to the same institution from grade school to high school. But it was only back in college when I celebrated my debut that we saw each other again. And the rest, as we say, is history.”
Gloval and Kate's relationship started when he gave her a love letter. Kate shared, “I can still remember how he professed his love to me in a piece of pad paper.” Since then, they have been together for twelve years before tying the knot on March 16, 2018.
AN ABSOLUTE LOVE | “I couldn’t ask for more,” as Kate shared how caring and loving her husband is, who has always been there for her through all the ups and downs. “She’s the perfect description of what beautiful inside and out means,” Gloval added. To him, his wife is the type of partner who won’t ever let you down.
Being best friends with your significant other feels like winning the jackpot, and Gloval and Kate hit the top prize. They are the type who loves going out and traveling. Moreover, being in a relationship with each other was just so easy for them to be in. As the bride shared, “my husband is the most understanding person. We learned that it’s not about finding out if you are compatible. It’s about understanding and accepting each other's differences.”
THE MARRIAGE PROPOSAL | It was Kate’s 30th birthday when Gloval decided to pop one of the most important questions in his life. He gathered her friends and their families to a bar in Laguna, where he asked her to be his wife. The bride, who thought that there were just dinner plans that night, was caught surprised when she saw everyone in the venue.
WEDDING PREPARATIONS | The couple only had nine months to prepare for the wedding, so they made sure that every detail was made subject to their approvals. Kate shared, “we were both open when it came to voicing out our preferences, especially with the results we can come up with.”
Planning their wedding had its challenges as both had different work schedules. They only had the weekends to plan their wedding, meet with suppliers, attend required seminars, and complete all necessary documents. “We both live outside the metro, so we had to arrange how our Saturdays would go for us to maximize our preparation time,” Kate shared. She recommends to all the soon-to-wed couples to discuss every detail of their wedding arrangements with their partner as it plays a vital role in their journey to the aisle.
The bride feels grateful to her family, especially for all the support that she and her husband received from them during the planning stage. Kate shared, “as the eldest in the family, and the first one to get married, my family has been the most supportive. They worked with me in all things wedding-related, like choosing the wedding location down to picking my wedding dress.”
The couple found every single moment in their wedding preparation a memorable experience. It was a once in a lifetime event that they vow to cherish forever.
GROOMS VOW | “In front of all these people, let me say that I want you to be my wife and that I want to be with you always. With that, I vow to make my life forever yours and to build my dreams around you. I promise to listen, to hear, and to always consider your feelings and thoughts as we travel together on this journey.”
BRIDE’S VOW | “I feel that every single thing in my life has led me to you, my choices, my heartaches, my regrets, and my everything. Today, I am giving myself to you. Since I was nine, I knew you were the one. Today, I shall proudly say to the world that we made it. Thank you for making me the happiest. Love, I will never stop loving you. I promise to remind you how handsome you are, and how kind and generous you are. My heart is overwhelmed and overjoyed. You have been kind, patient, and ever-willing to fill me with your unconditional love. To the whole world, let me introduce to you, my crush since I was nine, my boyfriend since I was eighteen, my fiancé when I turned thirty, and now my husband.”
A GRATITUDE LIST | The couple is grateful for the incredible suppliers that they’ve worked with. They are thankful for their wedding planner and coordinator (Alalay Ko), video and photography team (Blufish and Ian), host (Julius Atayde), and event stylist and florist (Dangwa Florist) for decorating the venue.
They would also like to thank the Manila Cathedral, most especially the Manila Hotel for providing their guests with the utmost convenience. Guests who traveled outside of the metro were able to book a room with them suitably. The couple is very grateful to their sales and marketing team for being the best in their jobs, as they were so easy to deal with. They made their dream wedding come true.
They also extend their gratitude to hair and makeup artist Jo Barba, who made the bride and her entourage look beyond beautiful. Ms. Jo Barba and her team were very efficient, friendly, and nice. They were able to give Kate her dream wedding look.
The couple is also thankful for the people who created their wardrobe, especially the bride. Kate's gown from Meldy’s Bridal Gowns was everything to her. “Thank you for all the things that you've done for me. Thank you for making sure that I looked my best on my wedding day. My robe and my gown were divine. I loved every detail of it, as I sparkled radiantly. If you saw my gown, you'll notice that my gown needed a lot of effort, especially when it came to its design and beadwork. But Meldy's took all the details to heart. I felt so happy and beautiful in my gown as it fitted me so well. Everyone loved the gown, and I received so many compliments for it,” Kate shared.
