An “I Do” to Remember

Trina and Jersson’s All-White Timeless Wedding in Bacolod

There’s something effortlessly romantic about a wedding that conveys timeless elegance, and for Trina and Jersson, that dream came to life on May 18, 2025. Set against the serene backdrop of Bacolod City, the couple’s all-white classic wedding was a reflection not just of their personal style, but of a love story years in the making.

From Small-Town Schoolmates to Soulmates

Trina and Jersson’s love story began long before any bouquet toss or wedding vow. The two grew up in the quaint town of Manapla, Negros Occidental, where they were high school schoolmates at St. Roch Academy. Their connection ran deep even then with Trina being classmates with Jherell, Jersson’s younger brother, while Jersson shared a class and a close friendship with Trina’s sister, Angelica. Their families knew each other, and they often found themselves at the same gatherings. Still, romance wasn’t yet in the picture.

Years later, during semestral breaks from college in Iloilo City, Trina would return home and occasionally hang out with her sister’s friends, one of them being Jersson. By 2015, sparks began to fly. Trina was nearing college graduation, interning at ABS-CBN Bacolod, while Jersson, then a seaman, was home and on vacation. A shared love for food, travel, and trying out new cafés formed the cornerstone of their connection. “We love to explore,” Trina said. “We just get each other.”

A Bond Strengthened by Distance

Trina and Jersson’s relationship blossomed over nine years, much of it long-distance. It wasn’t always easy, but their commitment to each other never wavered. “Good communication was the key,” Trina shared. “We met halfway every time. There were misunderstandings and arguments, but we always resolved them, never staying upset for long.”

Jersson added, “Every vacation, I made it a point to give her my time. She loves to feel heard, so I always made sure she knew I was listening.”

They both found joy in discovering new places together, often bonding through travel, something that became a staple in their relationship. “You learn so much about your partner when you travel with them,” Trina shared.

The Proposal: Skyline Romance in Taipei

On June 21, 2023, during a trip to Taiwan, Jersson orchestrated a moment straight out of a romantic film. As they stood atop Taipei 101, overlooking the city’s shimmering skyline, he got down on one knee. “I was admiring the view,” Trina recalled, “and then he proposed. I didn’t even hesitate, I said yes. It was beautiful.”

A Vision Years in the Making

With their wedding originally scheduled earlier but postponed due to Jersson’s unpredictable work schedule at sea, the couple used the extended timeline to plan their dream celebration. “We wanted it stress-free and well-thought-out,” said Trina. “And we saved up to make sure it was exactly how we envisioned it.”

Trina had a clear aesthetic in mind from the beginning: a classic all-white wedding. “Nothing flashy. Just simple, timeless elegance,” she described. From the soft whites of the florals to the neutral tones worn by their guests and entourage, champagne, beige, off-white, the palette was clean, cohesive, and endlessly chic. “Even after ten years, I want to look at our wedding photos and still feel in style.”

A Church That Felt Like Home

The couple chose San Antonio Abad Parish Church in Bacolod for their ceremony. “The moment we saw it, we knew it was the one,” said Trina. “It was beautiful, simple, and air-conditioned too!” The venue set the tone for the rest of the day, understated yet meaningful.

Their reception followed just five minutes away at Sugarland Hotel, a local institution famed for its impeccable service and rich banquet history. Guests sipped cocktails in the hotel’s courtyard before moving into the Grand Ballroom, where a feast awaited. “The food was superb,” said Trina. “And the service exceeded our expectations.”

Entourage with Heart

Trina and Jersson’s wedding party was selected with heartfelt intention. “All female entourage members were from my side, and all males from Jersson’s,” Trina shared. “We had two maids of honor and two best men. Everyone felt like they were chosen long before the planning started, as if the roles had been cast years in advance.” The entourage included close friends, family members, nieces, and nephews, all thoughtfully placed and joyfully celebrated.

The Dream Team

Being based in Iloilo while planning a wedding in Bacolod could have been a logistical nightmare, but thanks to the couple’s expert coordinator, everything went off without a hitch. “Choosing Conceptu Bacolod Event Specialist by Mar-Darlington Espera was the best decision we made,” Trina gushed. “Their team handled everything, even when we had to move our wedding date multiple times.”

From securing top-notch suppliers to ensuring the bride and groom were pampered on their special day, Sir Dharl and his team brought the couple’s vision to life. “He suggested the best of the best, from HMUA Ms. Gail Golez and her proficient team, to EP Studios and The Storyteller, who created magic with every photograph and video scene. Every detail was how I dreamed it.”

Their elegant wedding favors, the beautiful floral arrangements, and seamless coordination all came together in harmony. “To all our suppliers,” Trina said with gratitude, “thank you for your hard work, for exceeding our expectations, and for making our day unforgettable.”

The Wedding Day

For Trina and Jersson, their wedding wasn’t just an event, it was a symphony of love, joy, and perfectly timed chaos. “It all happened so fast,” Trina reflects. “One moment I was laughing with my parents, the following minute, I was sobbing tears of joy. It was the best day of my life.”

From heartfelt vows at the altar to a choreographed first dance (yes, courtesy of Jersson himself), every detail reflected their nine-year journey anchored by long-distance calls, countless reunions, and unwavering love. “I married the love of my life,” Jersson says. “That day? Memorable. Everyone was glowing, and team groom preparations was crazy. Pure fun.”

One of the most memorable moments? Their first dance. “We practiced it just days before,” Trina laughs. “I kept messing up the steps, but we were mostly just laughing.” It all came together on the floor graceful, lighthearted, and deeply them.

The reception was electric. Hosted by Ceazar Ian, a close friend who knew the couple inside out, the program flowed naturally, filled with laughter and personal touches that made guests feel like family. And the after-party? “Doubly fun in the best way,” says Jersson.

Now married, the couple offers this advice: Take your time. Whether you want an intimate gathering or a grand affair, let it reflect your story. And, as Trina quips, “If one speaks, the other should listen especially the groom!” Most of all? Seize the moment. It passes in a blur, but the memories last forever.

As Trina beautifully put it: “Even when life pulls us apart, I’ll always find my way back to you.” And Jersson? “You are my everything. I’m yours, forever.”

A New Chapter

As they danced beneath the soft glow of their reception lights, surrounded by family, friends, and everything they ever dreamed of, Trina and Jersson began a new journey not just as husband and wife, but as lifelong teammates.

“It feels like I found a best friend and a lover in one,” Trina beamed. And for Jersson, the wedding was more than just a milestone. “She gives my life direction. With her, everything makes sense.”

Classic. Elegant. Real. Just like their love story.
